Overview

Develop an understanding of current practise and next-generation Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques for upcoming communication systems. Discover more than simply  mapping legacy analogue designs to a DSP implementation. Revisit first principles which demonstrate how to apply technology capabilities to the design of next-generation communications systems.

Course Outline

An examination of past, present, and future digital modulation systems and a  detailed study of the following spects of DSP:

  • Digital Filters
  • Channelisers
  • Filter Design Techniques
  • Pre- and Post-Signal Conditioning
  • Sigma-delta Converters
  • Carrier Centred Modulation and Demodulation
  • Synchronisation
  • Adaptive Filters
  • Modem Structures
