Course Outline

The course will cover the following modules:

  • Hull type and form
  • Hull geometry
  • Mass tracking
  • Elements of transverse stability
  • Analysis of transverse stability
  • Trim
  • Dry docking
  • Includes an introduction to:
    • Global structure
    • Local structure
    • Marine regulatory environment
    • Graphical documentation and the design process

Course Details

Duration: 3 days

Who should attend: Suited to those working in surface or subsurface engineering  programs and those who would benefit from an understanding of naval architecture

Prerequisite: No prerequisities are mandated for this course

Accreditation: Successful completion of this course and a 2-day bridging program, may qualify attendees for an exemption in JEE 504 – Principles of Naval Architecture, for the Australian Maritime College post graduate study areas of Master of Applied Science, Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering
