The Defence & National Security Workforce Awards celebrate the achievements of rising stars, spotlight innovative workforce programs and showcase the top contenders for the industry’s employer of choice.

The judging panel was comprised of former senior Australian Defence Force leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs and innovators, ensuring entrants received genuinely peer-reviewed recognition of their capabilities within the defence sector.

Babcock Onboarding Initiative

Our Talent and Experience team reimagined onboarding as an employee initiative that begins at offer acceptance and continues to the first anniversary – a 13‑month journey to inform, connect and inspire, with a strong focus on meaningful connection and ongoing support. This initiative reframes onboarding as the foundation of employee experience at Babcock.

One recent starter captured the spirit of the new onboarding experience, “I’ve never felt so connected to a company before joining. When I started, I felt like I already knew people.” That sentiment of belonging and confidence from the outset is precisely what leadership set out to achieve, and what this initiative now delivers.

On the Award, Naomi Arnold, Head of Talent and Experience, notes, “It is a proud moment for our team, recognising the thoughtful approach that’s shaped a meaningful experience for new starters and the managers who support them.”
