Babcock International

Social investment

At Babcock, we’re passionate about making a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.

We aim to foster long-term, meaningful partnerships to maximise our contribution – to our people, our partners, the environment and local communities. Social investment is one of the tools we use to make this contribution.

We work with local community groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations across Australia and New Zealand to support their initiatives through financial and/or in-kind contributions, such as, volunteering and mentoring.

Our Social Investment framework is underpinned by four key pillars:

Veteran Support

Supporting key programs that directly assist veterans and their families.

Building our future workforce

Building the future of Australian and New Zealand industry and skills through strategic partnerships and investment.

Support our local communities to thrive

Strengthening our support for local community organisations and initiatives across our areas of operation.

Empowering our staff

The opportunity for our employees to support community initiatives and causes which matter most to them.

Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA)

We have proudly supported MESHA for over a decade. As a Corporate Partner, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of veterans, emergency service personnel and their families across Australia.

Our partnership in 2026, support MESHA to establish a locally based lived experience workforce in Western Australia for the first time, playing a central role in delivering programs, research and resources to support service personnel and their families in the region

Yalari

In 2025, Babcock proudly celebrated 10 years of partnership with Yalari, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from remote, rural and regional communities with scholarships to attend leading boarding schools across Australia. Beyond scholarships, Babcock has contributed to Yalari’s mission through speaking engagements, fundraising support and volunteering, reinforcing our role in promoting inclusion and long-term community impact.

Engineering Aid Australia

We have been a Program Supporter of Engineering Aid Australia since 2018, supporting the Indigenous Australian Engineering Schools (IAES) program. The program provides an engaging environment for Indigenous students to learn what engineering is all about and discover how engineers can benefit and improve their communities. Students have the opportunity to meet engineering role models and gain insights into the career pathways engineering can offer.

Eat Up

Babcock is committed to strengthening communities through our national partnership with Eat Up, a not-for-profit tackling food insecurity in schools. While the program operates across Australia, Babcock has prioritised its support within Western Australia, where Eat Up experience increased demand.

In Western Australia, one in four students at Eat Up-supported schools rely on free lunches, and demand continues to rise. Our partnership helps Eat Up meet this growing need, ensuring children have access to nutritious meals so they can learn and thrive. Babcock staff regularly volunteer to prepare sandwiches for local schools with over 5,825 sandwiches delivered to six schools in Henderson in just nine months, reinforcing our commitment to community wellbeing and educational equity.

Harbour Hospice

Through our partnership with Harbour Hospice in New Zealand, we help provide essential palliative care for people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford. Since 2021, Babcock has supported the charity by raising over $28,000 via our Costal Challenge Team and contributing hands‑on volunteer time, strengthening both the organisation’s services and our connection to the communities we serve.

Lifeblood and NZ Blood Service

Across Australia and New Zealand, Babcock’s blood donation teams saved over 1,200 lives in 2025. Through our partnerships with the NZ Blood Service and Lifeblood, employees contributed lifesaving blood, plasma and platelet donations, making a direct and lasting impact in the community.

Volunteering to make a difference

We aim to make a genuine difference to our communities and help them thrive. Volunteering enables our workforce to play an active part in Babcock’s partnerships for the benefit of our outreach partners, and the community.

Our workforce is entitled to two annual ‘Be Kind’ leave days, providing our employees the opportunity to play an active part by volunteering for a charity or community group of their choice. This initiative empowers our people to make a meaningful impact in their communities, whether through solo volunteering or teaming up with colleagues.

We also encourage our workforce to participate in STEM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) volunteering and mentorship, providing students with access to real-world industry experiences and offering invaluable insights into the industry, sharing knowledge and inspiring students through presentations and hands-on guidance.
