Babcock named Rotary Wing Business of the Year 2026

Babcock was awarded Rotary Wing Business of the Year at the 2026 Aviation Awards in Sydney on Thursday, 6 August.

The Australian Aviation Awards showcase outstanding individuals and businesses shaping the growth and development of Australia’s aviation industry.

This award reflects the trust our partners and communities place in us and recognises our contribution to strengthening Australia’s rotary-wing capability.

In recognising Babcock, the judges noted, “Through trusted partnerships and end-to-end operational expertise, they provide tailored aviation solutions that strengthen safety, emergency response and community outcomes.”

Accepting the award, Duncan Milne, Managing Director Aviation & Critical Services, acknowledged the outstanding work of our pilots, crews, engineers and operations teams.

“This is a real testament to the whole team at Babcock, and the work they do day-in and day-out alongside our customers, to deliver for our communities across Australia.”

Babcock is Australia’s leading provider of rotary-wing emergency and critical services, delivering 24/7/365 Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, Search and Rescue, surveillance and airborne law enforcement capability across multiple jurisdictions. With more than half of our aviation workforce made up of veterans, we bring operational experience, discipline and situational awareness that strengthen our service delivery. Their ability to perform in challenging and dynamic environments enhances our readiness and supports the delivery of critical emergency and community services across Australia.

Congratulations also to our other finalists for representing Babcock on the national stage: Ryan Hurrell, finalist in Aviation Safety Professional of the Year; Scott Weight, finalist in Engineering Professional of the Year; and Alysa Atkinson, finalist in Rising Star – Large Business.

We also congratulate our fellow award winners and finalists, whose achievements continue to showcase the depth of talent and innovation across Australia’s aviation industry.
