Babcock presented with Commendation for DIPP Commitment

Babcock was presented with a Bronze Level Navy Commendation by RADM Wendy Malcolm at the Defence Industry Pathway Program (DIPP) Intake 7 Graduation.

The commendation was in recognition of Babcock’s enthusiasm and dedication in support of the DIPP and the objective to build a workforce and a pipeline of talent that is defence industry ready, as well as our commitment to equity and diversity in support of trainees as a Host Employer.

Babcock has proudly partnered with the DIPP as a Host Employer since the program’s inception in 2019. Since then we’ve hosted 15 trainees and provided 14 of these with full time employment. Throughout this time we’ve remained committed to equity and diversity in support of trainees, and those of neuro diverse, disability and gender diverse backgrounds. We have demonstrated this providing enhanced exposure and support, and also through the investment of specialist equipment to ultimately enhance the individuals’ trade skills.

Trainees Jade and Ambica were among those who graduated on the night. The pair will continue employment with Babcock as Office Administrator and Stores Officer, both playing a critical role in supporting Babcock’s maritime programs in Henderson, WA.
