Why Babcock
We’re a principles driven organisation and believe that to go far, we must go together.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, open culture where knowledge is shared, curiosity is encouraged and kindness and courage guide how we work.
Our principles
Our principles put people at the core of everything we do; they guide how we all work together and create the foundation for how we behave as individuals and as a team.
They keep us on the right course for achieving our vision of a safe, strong, sustainable Babcock, unifying the way we work. No matter your role in the business or location around the world, from the front-line to the Board, we’re all on the same page and working together in the same way.

We believe in positively challenging the status quo and asking, ‘how might we?’

We believe in measuring success by the results we deliver and the positive impact we make

We believe in being kind to ourselves, kind to each other and kind to the planet

We believe that Babcock is greater than the sum of its parts

We believe in being brave, ambitious and determined

We believe everybody has a part to play in Babcock’s and our customers’ success

Agile working
At Babcock, agile working means offering more choice and autonomy about how, when and where we do our best work – all while balancing the needs of our customers, business, team and ourselves. It breaks down traditional limitations such as dedicated desks, one-size-fits-all working hours and hierarchical office design in favour of more innovative approaches to workplaces and working patterns. For you, this could mean flexible start and finish times, a mix of office and home working, or even condensed working weeks.
We believe that everyone at Babcock should be able to embrace some version of agile working. As a result, we aim to create teams that feel more engaged and provide an environment that fosters greater personal wellbeing. Check our job adverts for more details or talk to our recruitment team about what agile working looks like for the role and team you’re applying for.
Inclusion and diversity
For us, the transformative power of different perspectives and working with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and approaches enhances our working environment and drives our business performance.
Our ambitions are bold as we drive to have a minimum 30% women across Babcock International Group by 2030. To accelerate progress we are taking a number of actions including: rolling out new policies and ways of working, refreshed recruitment processes, improved leadership development, enhanced mentoring programmes and career returners schemes along with training. We have also launched our Gender Balance Action Plan (GAP). This acts as the blueprint for Inclusion and Diversity, informed by data and insight, and is supported by our Senior Inclusion and Diversity Executive Committee Sponsor
As part of our commitment to supporting our employees, Babcock also sponsors a number of employee networks within the business. As experts in the lived experience of their individual groups, they bring a different and personal perspective which helps us understand and support all our people better.
