Delivering advanced capability to QLD communities

Working closely together with CapRescue, Babcock introduced an AW139 helicopter to the CapRescue fleet, replacing one of the existing Bell 412s, for increased speed, range and operational capability, including  improved range and speed, custom configuration of specialised on-board aeromedical equipment, and a bespoke aircraft cabin design and fitout suitable for aeromedical and SAR operations.

Babcock facilitated the aircraft design and installation of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) modification, procurement of ground support equipment and spares, integration of the aircraft into company systems and aircraft maintenance and modification.

All existing flight and engineering crew were also required to undergo new aircraft type training, while maintaining service delivery and roster coverage. Medical personnel also underwent dual type training.
