Babcock has a rich history in the design, development, and manufacture of assets for defence and civil customers, from naval architecture to mission-based product solutions, ensuring they are mission-ready, safe and fit for purpose.

With our platform agnostic approach, we apply right technology solution to address the engineering requirement, best suited to our customers.

We are involved in major naval defence programs internationally including the design and build of the Type 31 frigates for the UK Royal Navy and the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers. Our state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility at Rosyth is now a world class digital shipbuilding facility, with opportunities to roll out the blueprint and processes to export customers around the globe. We also design and manufacture other defence and specialist equipment, including weapons handling systems and liquid gas handling systems.

Locally we are the manufacturer, maintainer and in-country repair agent key systems on the Collins Class submarines, undertaking repair, refurbishment and replacements as well as engineering capability for concessions, deviations and system improvements throughout the life cycle of the systems. Babcock is also in contract for the design, build and install of the Air Weapons Handling System for the Hunter Class Frigates, as well as the Stores Lift and Food Hoist.
