From our facilities in Devonport, Auckland, we deliver engineering and repair services, both in dry-dock and deep water, to commercial vessels and super yachts.
Operating New Zealand’s largest marine engineering facility and dry-dock, we are well-equipped to tackle complex, multi-disciplined projects for a vast array of commercial vessels. Our extensive project management and engineering experience, coupled with our maritime knowledge and technical resources, enables us to confidently and efficiently work in partnership with our customers.
Located in Devonport, Auckland, our dry-dock and marine engineering facility is also well equipped for super yachts. Babcock offers a full range of marine engineering, design, project management and refitting services for super yachts.

Operating from New Zealand’s Navy principal location, our secure and private dry-dock is 181.4 metres in length, with capacity for vessels up to 160 meters in length and 22 metres beam. Berthage up to 275 metres in length, with 14 metres draft.
Our dry-dock is equipped with a 40-tonne travelling dockside crane, and on-site mobiles to 50-tonnes. The electricity capacity, water and compressed air are also fit for purpose.
We operate a full-service facility with workshops for marine fitting and machining, hull survey, hull and industrial coatings, steel and pipe fabrication, electrical fitting, diesel and fuel injection, and calibration with ISO 17025 and AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 certification. We work with allied marine engineering and specialist contractors in dry-docking repairs and conversions.
Upfront detailed planning ensures a common understanding that minimises technical and program risks. We provide real time cost and budget updates throughout the project to ensure expectations are met. Our services via our subsidiary Marine Industrialail Design span designing for retrofit of new subsea research equipment to yacht structural modifications. Our technical services include calibration of sensitive electronic equipment, survey and 3D scanning.
