Babcock and A&P to host Defence Maritime Industry Day

Babcock Australasia (Babcock) and Atlantic & Peninsula Australia Pty Ltd (A&P) will host a Defence Maritime Industry Day on Monday 22 August to connect with current and future suppliers and provide an overview of the opportunities across the Defence maritime sector.

The industry day will place an emphasis on the Commonwealth’s Regional Maintenance Provider East (RMP East) opportunity and communicate how local industry can get involved with Babcock and A&P Australia’s solution.

Participants have the opportunity to join the event in-person, or virtually. The in-person experience will include a networking opportunity with Babcock, A&P, industry associations, and the broader supply chain.

Babcock’s Head of Customer Solutions (Defence & Security), Craig Schwartz said combining the capability embedded in Babcock’s and A&P’s supply chain was integral to the success of the Future Maritime Sustainment Model (FMSM).

“Babcock and A&P are proud to host an important event that connects a range of industry players, considering the major current and planned developments in the defence maritime sector.

“Our current valued supply chain and future solution providers are at the core of delivering a truly national capability for the sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) warships.

“Through your contributions and support, we can deliver a superior and highly competitive solution through RMP East to grow sovereign capability, supporting SME’s and Primes to continue their service for the RAN,” Mr Schwartz said.

A&P Australia’s Managing Director, Scott Willey said this event will provide suppliers the opportunity to give insight and feedback on engaging with us and have dedicated time to ask questions of our subject matter experts.

“We want to engage with current suppliers and future solution providers to further our understanding of their offerings and how we can improve collaboration to enhance the value provided to Navy and CASG.

“Babcock and A&P have a proud history of including local suppliers to deliver for Navy and we are committed to providing opportunities for suppliers to grow as we grow,” said Mr Willey.

An industry questionnaire will be released at the conclusion of the event to provide participants with a platform to communicate their perspectives on maritime programs and what they need from Babcock and A&P in the delivery of the FMSM.
