Capabilities

Partnering with the ASC, we bring together engineering, design, systems integration and platform management capabilities to sustain the Collins Class submarines.

From our engineering and maintenance facilities in South Australia and Western Australia, we design and support critical systems for the Collins Class submarines including the Weapons Launch System, Weapons Handling System, Submerged Signal Ejectors and Air Purification Units.

Our solution

Babcock has developed a Project Management Office (PMO) to provide governance, controls, continuous improvement and change management to deliver tactical and strategic business outcomes.

Full Cycle Docking (FCD) support

Our solution

Our FCD team refurbishes approx. 180 individual major sub-assemblies and over 300 hydraulic selector valves during each FCD. We also provide site engineering support for set-to-work and commissioning.

Our multidisciplinary engineering team provides design and systems integration, metal loss/corrosion surveys, deviations, technical investigations, obsolescence and configuration management, and logistic support.

In Service Support (ISS)

Our solution

Our ISS teams work alongside ASC, from planning and work pack production, to final quality checks and task close out for Australian submarines.

Require spares and repairables

Our solution

We procure spares, as well as refurbish repairable items both during and outside of the FCD period. Our service includes complete inventory processes, in-store maintenance, procurement and production.
