Located in Devonport, Auckland, our dry-dock and marine engineering facility is also well equipped for super yachts. Babcock offers a full range of marine engineering, design, project management and refitting services for super yachts. Our team of marine architects and engineers are trusted to deliver highly technical projects where precision and innovation counts.

Our solution

Our services span designing for retrofit of new subsea research equipment to yacht structural modifications. Our technical services include calibration of sensitive electronic equipment, survey and 3-D scanning.

Our solution

We operate a full-service facility that includes workshops for marine fitting and machining, hull and industrial coatings, steel and pipe fabrication, electrical fitting, diesel and fuel injection, and calibration.

Our solution

Operating from NZ's Navy principal location, our secure and private dry-dock is 181.4 metres in length, with capacity for vessels up to 22 metres beam. Berthage is up to 275 metres in length, with 14 metres draft.

Our solution

Our dry-dock is equipped with a 40 tonne travelling dockside crane, 8 tonne travelling berthside crane and on-site mobiles to 50 tonnes. The electricity capacity, water and compressed air are also fit for purpose.

We are certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 standard and work with allied marine engineering and specialist contractors in dry-docking repairs and conversions. Our global customers trust us to deliver for them.

The 69 metre factory fishing trawler Tomi Maru 87 returned to Babcock NZ to undergo a 3 week dry-docking and maintenance period. Tomi Maru 87 has been coming to the Devonport Dockyard for approximately twenty years for a mix of dry-docking and engine and machinery overhaul projects.
