Babcock signs 10-year partnership with the Metropolitan Fire Service to develop Engineering Centre of Excellence

Babcock Australasia (Babcock) is proud to announce that it has commenced a 10-year partnership with the Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) of South Australia to develop an MFS Engineering Centre of Excellence.

As part of this partnership, Babcock will support the MFS’ Engineering team to provide high quality and dependable servicing and maintenance of the MFS fleet of 104 fire appliances. MFS Engineering staff will remain as MFS employees. MFS appliances, buildings and assets will remain under the ownership of the government or MFS.

“It is an honour to be helping the brave men and women of the Metropolitan Fire Service by making sure their appliances are dependable and available,” said Graeme Nayler, Managing Director of Land for Babcock Australasia.

“The Metropolitan Fire Service has a long and proud history of protecting the residents of South Australia and we want to make sure that they get the equipment and service they deserve.”

Babcock’s partnership with MFS is a further deepening of Babcock’s existing aviation support to the wider Emergency Services in South Australia. The partnership will enhance MFS’s engineering and maintenance capabilities, while also improving customer satisfaction through real time servicing tracking and logistics management.

Across Australia, Babcock has more than 25 years’ experience providing emergency and mission critical services for a diverse range of clients including the Government of South Australia, Ambulance Victoria, RACQ Central Queensland Rescue Service, RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service and Queensland Health. Babcock works extensively with emergency services organisations around the world to manage their complex combination of assets, support equipment and training needs.
